How to change costumes in Xenoblade Chronicles 3
To unlock the ability to change your costumes in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, you’ll need to reach Chapter 3 and complete the “No Want of Courage” Hero quest, in which you unlock Ethel as a hero on your squad.
In order to begin this process, press the X button to get to the main menu and select “Characters,” the first tab on the page. Now go to the near bottom and select “Clothing”. You can switch characters with the L and R buttons.
You’ll now see the various clothing options available to you. The Base Clothing is what is worn with the class your character is currently representing. However, you can pick any class’ costume that you’ve reached up to Rank 10 with. You also have access to the Military Uniform that the group wears at the beginning of the game.
For a close-up on the face, you can press the left stick to switch the model view. You can see the little details in each variation that the characters wear.
Changing your clothing does not alter your stats at all, so you can choose whichever outfit you’d like for Noah, Mio, and the rest of the party. For example, Noah can use some Defender arts, even if he’s wearing the Swordfighter clothing.
Unfortunately, hero characters like Ethel cannot be altered, but you can gain the costumes of them throughout the game. You can gain their class and then have the characters reach Level 10 to unlock the new look permanently. There are about 23 heroes in the game to find, including the main party and Ethel. Now you should know how to change costumes in Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
The voice actors of the game will likely see many iterations of these characters’ costumes at fan conventions because of the classes feature. We also know that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will be in some way connected to the past two games.
