As you probably know by now, Dice recently released their highly anticipated game Star Wars: Battlefront, which launched to mixed reviews – here’s what we thought. However, Dice isn’t sticking around for long, as they’ve already moved onto their next project – a new Battlefield game. Although some of Dice’s team members will be continuing to work on Battlefront – more than likely on patches and DLC – a chunk of it is likely to move to the next game in the shooty shooty bang bang franchise.
Here’s what Dan Vaderlind, Development Director at Dice, had to say on Twitter: ‘Now that we’ve shipped Battlefront and a part of the team continues to work on it, I am moving onto another project, the next Battlefield…’
To be honest, that’s pretty vague. However, it does confirm the inevitable: Dice is working on the next installment of Battlefield and allowing visceral to focus on that highly-anticipated third person action adventure Star Wars game they’ve promised us.
Will the new Battlefield it be set in the future, past, or present? Only time will tell. Here in the Cabin, however, we’re still holding out for Bad Company 3. What would you like to see in the next Battlefield? Let us know down in the comments.
