So without further ado, here’s a rundown of the main changes coming to Final Fantasy XIV with The Dark Throne.
FFXIV Dark Throne patch notes: Playable Content Updates

New main scenario quests have been added to FFXIV. “Currying Flavor” is available after completing the main quest “Gods Revel, Lands Tremble”. Eight more main quests are also included, but their names are currently unknown until you complete earlier quests.
More quests have been added, including Chronicles of a New Era quests and a variety of side stories. New chapters have also been added to New Game+.
Housing has received a variety of changes. Furnishings from the FFXIV Furnishing Design Contest have been added to the game, and other new furnishings have been added too. You can also get some new fish for your aquarium and new flowerpots if you fancy a bit of gardening.
Island Sanctuary has been updated. The maximum rank is now sixteen, and new visions have been added. You can get new items, a new gathering area has been unlocked and a whole lot more.

FFXIV Dark Throne: Resolved & Known Issues

Here’s a list of all issues that have been fixed with the FFXIV Dark Throne patch, as well as known issues currently still being worked on.
Resolved Issues
- An issue during the instanced battle in the paladin job quest “Keeping the Oath” wherein players could not progress the battle under certain conditions.
- An issue during the battle with Ferdiad Hollow in the Dun Scaith alliance raid wherein the battle does not progress under certain conditions.
- An issue in Eureka Orthos wherein the position of treasure coffers was incorrect.
- An issue wherein the the red mage PvP limit break Southern Cross was treated as a spell, and could receive the effects of Manafication.
- An issue when spectating custom matches wherein raising the camera angle past a certain threshold would prevent the camera from lowering back to the ground.
- An issue in the Sylphstep GATE wherein certain graphics did not display properly.
- An issue in island sanctuary wherein the earnings listed for the previous season differed from the earnings received.
- An issue when viewing the Fishing Log and Fish Guide wherein the weather conditions listed for catching the sunfish were incorrect.
- An issue wherein the value of the vitality and critical hit rate attributes of the Alexandrian Metal Blade gladiator’s arm were incorrect.
- An issue wherein the value of the vitality and determination attributes of the Alexandrian Metal Buckler shield were incorrect.
- An issue wherein the lighting for characters did not display properly in certain areas.
- An issue wherein setting the pet hotbar to “Display pet hotbar only” under Pet Hotbar Settings would result in the cross hotbar also displaying with pet hotbar actions. (PlayStation🄬5 only)
- An issue wherein the game client would not open when logging in via the launcher on macOS 13.3 Ventura.
- Other minor text issues have also been addressed.
Known Issues
- An issue during the main scenario quest “The Price of Freedom” wherein quest markers do not display under certain conditions.
* In the event quest markers disappear, players can proceed with the quest by moving to the Peaks. - An issue wherein unintended quest markers appear when undertaking certain quests.
- An issue in the Anabaseios: The Tenth Circle and Anabaseios: The Tenth Circle (Savage) raid dungeons wherein the attack indicator for the enemy attack Entangling Web disappears when executing the general action Jump.
- An issue wherein the description for the machinist PvP action Bioblaster fails to mention the damage over time effect is not affected by Analysis.
* This is an issue only in the description. The action functions as intended. - An issue wherein the description for the variant action Variant Ultimatum erroneously states the increased enmity effect has a duration of 30 seconds.
* This is an issue only in the description. The correct duration is 60 seconds. - An issue in island sanctuary wherein leaving the Supply & Demand window open with multiple products listed will cause the client to forcibly close when the clock passes midnight (Earth time).
* Addressing this issue requires fixing a bug with the game client, which is scheduled for Patch 6.41. For the interim, we have implemented a provisional measures to forcibly close the window if players are interacting with the tactful taskmaster at midnight (Earth time). However, there is still the possibility players experience this issue. In such cases, players may safely relaunch the client without issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and ask for your understanding as we work to address this issue as soon as possible. - An issue wherein selecting a Diadochos Sword, opening the subcommand menu, and selecting Recipe Tree will cause the client to hang.
- An issue wherein using a Calligraph with an angler’s canvas results in graphics that display incorrectly.
- An issue wherein locations listed under the History tab of the Teleport window are erased under certain conditions.
- An issue when attempting to teleport to a PS Plus free destination with an invalid subscription wherein the error message displayed is incorrect.
* The displayed message reads “Unable to register free destination. You are not subscribed to PlayStation®Plus.” The correct message should read “Unable to register free destination. You are either not subscribed to PlayStation®Plus or your PlayStation®Plus Reward has expired.” - An issue when viewing the launcher wherein the mouse cannot scroll when the cursor is hovering over the application’s header or footer. (Mac only)
* The mouse scroll functions as normal when moved away from the header or footer.
