Microsoft is releasing Forza Horizon 5 on November 9 and the popular racing series has already proved itself to many of the series’ fans. The game has racked up more than 800,000 players who have taken advantage of early access gameplay.
To celebrate the launch of the game, Microsoft started offering pre-loads in October, and on Tuesday of this week, the company started providing Xbox Game Pass players early access if they purchased the $99 Premium Edition.
The premium edition includes early access to the full game, a welcome pack, car pass, VIP membership, and two expansions that will be available at a later time.
The team at VGC spotted the impressive numbers while examining the in-game Hall of Fame leaderboard. Among both PC and Xbox players, Forza Horizon 5 is being played by at least 800,000 gamers.
As PCGamesN points out if you’re paying attention to the numbers, that likely means Microsoft has taken in somewhere around $79 million from early access customers.
It’s not really a surprise that the game is performing well given the high scores it has been receiving from critics. Plus, Forza Horizon 5 did incredibly well in terms of sales.
In terms of gameplay, it’s no wonder fans of the series and likely some new players are flocking to it. Microsoft released an official launch trailer for the game three days ago and the 4K in-game footage looks incredible.
Early access has become a staple of game releases and Microsoft has been really focused on those types of offerings. Xbox Game Play and EA Play subscribers are getting 10 hours of early gameplay for Battlefield 2042 starting on November 12, a full week before the game is fully released to everyone.
If you’re ready to explore the vibrant landscapes of Mexico in hundreds of the world’s greatest cars, there’s still time to grab early access, otherwise, it’s coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one in just two days.
