Forza Motorsport 6 Releasing on PC

Microsoft caused something of a stir a couple of weeks ago by conforming that Quantum Break will also get a release on the PC platform. Some of the Xbox faithful saw it as a bit of a slap to the chops that an Xbox One exclusive would no longer truly be an Xbox One exclusive.

Well, Microsoft isn’t done with stirring the pot of emotions just yet as the platform holder has announced that Forza Motorsport 6 will also be making the jump from console to PC, albeit in a bit of a different manner. Microsoft announced Forza Motorsport 6: Apex for the PC as a free-to-play game.

The stripped-down edition will release free of charge on the Windows 10 game store this Spring and will “pave the way” for future Forza experiences on the Windows 10 platform.

To look at this announcement at face value, we’d hazard a guess that this is Microsoft”s attempt at gauging interest in the Forza franchise on PC. So if this goes down well and players respond positively, we reckon Microsoft won’t hesitate to release future Forza games on Windows 10 just as they are on the Xbox One.

There’s no release date just yet, just the promise of a spring release, but keep checking in with The Games Cabin and we’ll keep you updated when more info is available.
