Shawn Fonteno, perhaps better known for playing Franklin Clinton in Grand Theft Auto V, has posted an Instagram picture of himself wearing a mo-cap suit today. The image was captioned with a simple “LOL FUCCCCCCC IT ……” [sic], before being edited down to a straightforward “LOL … …”.
This would perhaps indicate that the long-rumored Story DLC for GTA V is in production. This is actually the second time Fonteno has posted a wink wink tease, with the first instance being another Instagram photo for fans back in June 2015.
The story DLC has been so shrouded in mystery that Take Two apparently forgot about it when Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick was asked about it back in May 2015 during an earnings call.
Of course, it could all be the case that this is, in fact, for more content for GTA Online, which has received dozens of DLC updates, including new voiced content from other GTA V characters. Just because there is new content with Franklin does not necessarily confirm that Fonteno is doing mo-cap for story DLC, or even that it will be Franklin appearing.
The only official word on GTA V’s story DLC is the official line from the Rockstar website back in 2014 which simply said “Michael, Franklin, and Trevor’s action, mayhem, and unexpected adventures in Southern San Andreas.”
