GTA V Will Be Biggest One Yet, Flying Planes Will Be A Breeze

Dan Houser, co-founder of Rockstar and writer of GTA V, recently spoke with The Guardian about the upcoming open-world crime adventure.

During the interview Dan House proudly revealed that GTA V will feature an open-world experience like no other, a bigger digital playground than GTA IV, GTA: San Andreas and Red Dead Redemption combined.

“We wanted to make a big place, as much as anything, to allow you to fly,” he stated. “A lot of the decisions, we’re talking about them here on a philosophical level, but they’re also practical decisions, too: we’re making a game. You have to understand the medium.

“On a obvious level we wanted somewhere big so you can fly properly – we have a lot of missions that involve flying, in helicopter or whatever, it was logical. Also, jet skis work better in LA than they would in New York.”

Being able to fly a plane was a sorely missed feature in GTA IV, so its good to see that with it returning in GTA V, Rockstar are really pushing for it to be as fun as possible.

GTA V is due out in the Spring of 2013, so in the mean time why not jump back into GTA: San Andreas and hone your flying skills there to see you over until you can take on the re-imagined Los Santos in GTA V.

Are you looking forward to flying a plane across Los Santos again? Or are you a land mammal who prefers to rip through the streets in a car or on a motorbike?
