Holiday Themed Toy Tank Mode Hits World of Tanks on Xbox One, Xbox 360

If you listen carefully, you might just be able to hear Santa whooshing over up above. Come Christmas morning, there will be treats under trees, fights over who gets the last roast potatoes, and of course, the obligatory fight over Monopoly. Oh Christmas, we do love you.

If you’re looking to sneak a treat before the big day though, you’ll most likely get a severe whipping from Santa and his elves. Thankfully, Wargaming has been kind enough to offer a lovely festive treat to all of its Xbox One and Xbox 360 fans. The development studio behind World of Tanks has announced today the released of a new holiday themed combat mode for World of Tanks on Xbox One and Xbox 360.

The Toy Tank Mode is available from today and will run until December 27th. Toy Tank Mode takes away from the realistic combat and instead dumps players in remote control toy tanks. Here’s a quick run down of what the mode entails, courtesy of the press release from War Gaming:

“A change of scenery from standard tank warfare, Toy Tank Mode offers a more playful way to battle against your friends in a custom holiday garage, where miniaturized toy tanks navigate around a battlefield of presents. Traversing through toy-made ramps, blocks and gifts, tankers will enjoy an experience like no other, where every aspect of the game including crew voices has been scaled down for lighthearted tank encounters.

The Tier IX, “Toy Tank” is modelled from the French Tier V BDR G1 B and outfitted with a spring-loaded turret that fires suction cup dart rounds that comically attach to enemy tanks with each successful hit. In a rambunctious fight for victory, these carefully crafted toy tanks drive straight from the workshop to the console with special holiday emblems available only during this event.”

What a lovely little treat, eh? There’s a short trailer down below that shows off the new game mode in all of its Christmas charm.
