- Here are all ESO expansions in order of when they released
How long is ESO maintenance?
Typically, ESO maintenance will last no more than a few hours. According to the official Elder Scrolls Online website, most maintenance periods will only last a few hours.
You can view the whole maintenance schedule for the game here. This page details all the previous maintenance periods as well as any planned maintenance.
During this time, the developers will deploy patches, server optimisations, database updates and more to keep the game running smoothly for all players. Generally, the maintenance doesn’t last longer than this, but be aware that it is a possibility!
You shouldn’t be out of the game for too long, but you may have to find something else to do if maintenance happens to occur otherwise you’ll be waiting for a few hours.

When does ESO maintenance occur?
If you’re worried about ESO maintenance affecting your game, this might alleviate those concerns a bit. Generally, ESO maintenance will only occur when the game is experiencing low traffic in order to affect the smallest number of players possible.
This obviously means some players may still be affected. However, you shouldn’t have to anticipate maintenance happening during the more popular hours of the day.
Maintenance may happen every couple of weeks or so depending on how urgently the maintenance is needed. It could also happen on one server but not another. In some instances the game may be brought down for emergency maintenance, which could occur at any time – but this is unlikely to happen often.
