If you’re looking for a walkthrough for the Mattison’s Independence Tears of the Kingdom side quest, you’ve come to the right place. This guide will tell you how to do each step of the quest and get your rewards.
So without further ado, let’s jump right into this Mattison’s Independence walkthrough.
- Here’s how to complete the Wind Temple in Tears of the Kingdom.
Starting the Mattison’s Independence quest
The Mattison’s Independence quest can be found in Tarrey Town in Tears of the Kingdom. You might remember this town if you played Breath of the Wild.
Speak to Hudson and Rhondson in the main square to start the quest. Speaking to Hudson will reveal that his daughter, Mattison, is leaving for Gerudo Town soon and he wants to do something for her.
You can find Mattison in her room upstairs in the house right by Hudson. Speak to her, then find her in the middle of the town. She’ll quiz you on the Gerudo language, asking you for the word “Granny”, which is “Vaba“. She’ll then go off to try and help her father with his construction work.
Mattison’s Independence: Construction work
This part of Mattison’s Independence is a little tricky. You’ll have to block the railcar guard’s view or he will prevent you from completing this step of the quest.
You can do this by blocking his eyesight with an object using Ultrahand. There are various boxes around town you can use for this section of the game.
Speak with Mattison to get her to ride down to the construction area, then meet her there. You can speak to Hudson, who finally has an idea – he wants to give her a hot-air balloon. However, he doesn’t have the right colour.
Collect ten Sundelions and give them to Hudson. You can find Sundelions on Sky Islands in Tears of the Kingdom, and sometimes around the fallen pieces of sky islands on the ground. After giving the Sundelions to Hudson, he will paint the balloon yellow, and the family will take a trip in it together.
For completing the quest, you’ll receive a silver rupee, which is equivalent to 200 rupees.
That’s all you need to know thanks to our Mattison’s Independence Tears of the Kingdom walkthrough.
