In this guide, we’ll show you how to evolve Garlic in Vampire Survivors. It’s pretty simple once you know how to do it, and this guide will walk you through it so you can have access to one of the simplest but most powerful items in the game. So, here’s everything you need to know about evolving Garlic and getting the Soul Eater!
What is Garlic in Vampire Survivors?
To evolve Garlic in Vampire Survivors, you’ll need to get your hands on it by unlocking Poe. Garlic is the starting item for Poe Ratcho, and if you don’t have it unlocked, you can unlock it by eating Floor Chicken.
Garlic gives the character an aura that will deal damage to every enemy inside it. Those who are hit by Garlic will be more vulnerable to Knockback and Freeze.
This is an extremely helpful item, especially for newer players. It allows you to walk through enemies and kill them without worrying about being hit. You can still get overwhelmed if enough tough enemies come at you, but upgrading it will allow you to simply walk through hordes of enemies and kill them all with ease.

How to evolve Garlic in Vampire Survivors
Now that you have Garlic in Vampire Survivors, it’s time to evolve it. To do so, you’ll need to max it out to level 8 by choosing it whenever it shows up as an upgrade option.
Then, you’ll need to pick up the Pummarola as one of your items. This is available from the start of the game. Level up the Pummarola to level 5 by choosing it whenever it shows up.
After leveling up both the Pummarola and Garlic, you will unlock the Soul Eater. This is a drastically improved version of Garlic.
Soul Eater has a huge black aura around it, dealing damage to every enemy who stands inside it. The base damage is significantly better than that of Garlic, and once hit by Soul Eater, enemies will be more vulnerable to Knockback and Freeze.
Not only this, but Soul Eater will also heal you as you’re damaging enemies. Plus, this item has some fantastic synergies with Arcanas once you have them unlocked. Try experimenting and see what works for you!
