One of the world’s favourite pastimes fishing is represented in Final Fantasy XV, the Pokemon series, and now Sonic Frontiers. Unlike many other games, however, fishing in Sonic Frontiers is extremely useful. Here’s how to perform this action in the game and why it’s helpful in this Blue Blur adventure.

Where To Fish In Sonic Frontiers And Rewards
Fishing in Sonic Frontiers is available early on in the game as you explore the open zones of this new entry. In select areas of each location, you’ll find a shrine with a purple light that will guide you to a fishing area that is helmed by Big The Cat. In exchange for purple coins, which you can find around the open environments of Sonic Frontiers, you can fish to your heart’s content.
When you catch different species of fish within the ponds, you’ll be rewarded with tokens. You can redeem these for awesome rewards, such as Vault Keys, Portal Gears, Lost Koco, Red Seeds of Power, Blue Seeds of Defense, and other items. Finding rarer fish will give you more tokens. You can even discover treasure, which can contain a scroll that unlocks fast travel between the Elder Koco and Hermit Koco.

How To Fish Successfully
The fishing process in Sonic Frontiers is fairly simple, in comparison to other video games like Final Fantasy XV. Press the cross button (A on Xbox) to release the line and then wait for a bite. Once you see the rod shuffling, press the cross button again to start the reeling process. You’ll then see one or two red lines on the screen. Make sure that the white line that grows from within the circle hits the red portion to successfully catch the fish. You may have to press the cross button (A) multiple times if the red lines are separated.
There are quite a few fish species and objects to find within each zone’s pond, so make sure to check the completion rate that is displayed by the gate. There are a few trophies and achievements attached to your success in fishing.
