Just Cause 3 released earlier this month to rave reviews from critics (including us), but it wasn’t without its fair share of controversy. We first reported that the PS4 version (the only version available to us at the time) was suffering from excruciatingly long load times. The problem was that when you’d die, restart a challenge, or initiate any action that required the game to hit a loading screen, you’d be looking at loading times anywhere between a couple of seconds and over five minutes. Crikey.
The new update that’s been rolled out today by Avalanche Studios, the game’s developer, aims to do away with those long load times, among other things. The full patch notes are down below.
Version 1.02
- Improved loading times
- Optimizations to online statistics keeping
- General stability updates
- Fixed and issue related to challenges, wherein vehicles sometimes disappeared when starting a challenge.
We’re in the process of giving Just Cause 3 a going-over to see if the update actually improves the game, so be sure to check back in a little later once we’ve had a muck around with the latest version of the game.
