Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced Mortal Kombat XL, the ultimate, “all-inclusive” edition of Mortal Kombat X, you know, the award-winning, critically acclaimed fight game that took 2015 by storm and sold like hotcakes. Just recently, it was named Best Fighting Game in The Game Awards 2015, and rightly so.
So, what will you get by purchasing Mortal Kombat XL? The main game and the forthcoming Kombat Pack 2, which includes:
• New characters such as the Xenomorph from Alien, Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre film, also Triborg and Bo’Rai Cho.
• New skins included in the Apocalypse Skin Pack.
• All the previously released downloadable content, including the Kombat Pack.
With so much content, we begin asking ourselves: heck, what will you not get by acquiring Mortal Kombat XL?Sadly, you still have to pre-order the game to get every tiny bit Mortal Kombat XL has to offer. Pre-order and you get to glare your eyes at the Cosplay Pack, which “reimagines Mortal Kombat X characters Cassie Cage and Jacqui Briggs as Lin Kuei and Shirai Ryu ninjas”. With that in mind, is Mortal Kombat XL the “all-inclusive” game it promises to be?
Not everyone is comfortable pre-ordering games these days. Still, there’s no denying Mortal Kombat X was one of the best games in general and the best fighting game in 2015. It innovated and settled a new high for an already greatly established franchise. Mortal Kombat XL builds on that, adding just more stuff to a great game. Some will be afraid to pre-order, some will not. Which side will you be on? Make sure to tell us in the comment section below!
Mortal Kombat XL will come to Europe for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 4th.
