Is it okay to read this novel before playing the game? The novel contains an official spoiler warning that asks the player to put off reading until they have finished playing the first game.
I still want to read it, how much will I be spoiled? Not much, the novel delves into a certain plot point that becomes irrelevant after 3 or 4 hours into the game, and for those who read the prequel stories: Bernhard Im Schatten, they might already have figured out the things contained in this novel. It’s safe to read even if you have not read any Schwarzesmarken related material before, but it is still recommended you finish the game first, or at least read the prequel novels Bernhard Im Schatten to gain a better perspective on the setting of the story.
At the age of 14, Katia Waldheim, who lost her parents-in-law in a car accident, knocked on the doors of the Guard Academy for Young Cadets. In order to fight the BETA, a species of alien origin that is hostile to humanity, Katia goes through rigorous training with the aim of becoming a tactical aircraft guard. While clashing with her female peers, she believes in herself and moves forward one step at a time. In her heart, she has hidden feelings for her two divided homelands.
