Need for Speed is Getting an Amazon Exclusive Steelbook Edition One Month Post-Launch

Ghost Games’ Need for Speed has been out for a couple of weeks now (our review is still being worked on, sorry!) and it’s been warmly received so far. Nothing strange there, then. What is a bit odd is that there’s a steelbook edition of the game, but it’s not out yet. How strange.

Stranger still, the Need for Speed steelbook edition is an Amazon exclusive and will release on December 4th in North America. Going off the Amazon description, it doesn’t sound like there’s anything particularly special about it other than the fact it comes in a metallic case. It’s no more expensive than the regular edition’s RRP, so expect to pay the standard $59.99. It’s available for pre-order now.

Need for Speed serves as something as a reboot for the franchise (again) and harks back to the Underground games. From what we’ve played so far, it seems like a decent enough game, but the always-online thing is a bit of an unneeded nuisance. Typical EA…

Need for Speed is out now on PS4 and Xbox One. A PC release is slated for early next year, here’s why.
