A retail listing on Spanish outlet XtraLife.es displayed Assassin’s Creed: Rising Phoenix as a PS Vita game set to release on October 10th, though the listing has since been removed, most likely by the request of Ubisoft.
Ubisoft haven’t been exactly careful with their secrets lately either, as another screenshot from whatever Assassin’s Creed: Rising Phoenix is has appeared online, once again via AllGamesBeta.
Check out the latest screenshot below:
It looks…different. It doesn’t exactly scream Assassin’s Creed at first glance. Usually leaks tend to show a bit of environment and maybe some action shots, the above image is instead a couple of unknown males/females stood at some sort of terminal whilst sporting Abstergo hoodies. To be honest, there’s not really a great deal to whoop about, the image doesn’t show anything exciting and far from confirms the existence of a new PS Vita based Assassin’s Creed, though it’s a definite possibility. Only a couple of weeks ago Ubisoft bosses declared themselves please with the sales results of Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation, so a new game may already be in the works, and an October 10th release date outs it around 3 weeks before the release of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, which would be of great benefit to the PS Vita game as it wouldn’t be overshadowed by the full console release.
Still, until there’s official confirmation from Ubisoft, we can’t know for sure, but it’s all shaping up and we’ll know for sure soon enough. We’ve emailed Ubisoft to see if they’ll fall for our charm, but there’s little chance of getting an email back saying ‘Yeah, it’s coming, it going to be wicked cool with guns and stuff, just don’t tell anybody I told you, else I’ll get fired.’ Only a fool would trust me…
