Minecraft for the PS3 and Xbox 360 will one day be technically unsupportable, according to Mojang’s Owen Hill.
For the time being 4J studios still intends to frequently update the title on the older consoles, in fact they hope to be able to keep all platforms on the same page for as long as is possible.
However, due to hardware limitations within the Xbox 360 and PS3 there will come a day when no more updates will be available for Minecraft. When will this day come? We haven’t a clue at the moment, but it’s not worth fretting over just yet.
4J Studios has ported the indie blockbuster to the Xbox 360, PS3 and more recently the PS4 and Xbox One consoles, though the latter versions are awaiting certification from Sony and Microsoft. A PS Vita version is also in development, but has recently been delayed.
Maybe it’s time to jump the old ship and join the next-gen crew? Or purchase the PC version?
