There’s a new Tomb Raider movie in the works, and interestingly it looks like the movie will stick close the recent Tomb Raider reboot that released this month.
The developers of the recently released Tomb Raider are working in close union with GK Films who will be producing the next Tomb Raider movie, which will not carry on from the earlier Tomb Raider films that hurt us all back in the early 2000’s.
Instead, the new movie will be tied in with the latest Lara Croft adventure, which as you know, is an origin story at its core.
“It was important for both of us to have a cohesive version of the franchise,” Gallagher said. “We didn’t want to see a film version that was a continuation of the old ‘Tomb Raider’ films.”
So basically, to avoid confusion amongst fans of Lara Croft’s adventures, the movie and the game will be connected, though there’s no solid information on what the Tomb Raider movie will focus on, though rumours indicate it may be a direct following of the film, Lara Croft’s origins in movie form, it could even act as a sequel to the critically acclaimed title, until we get more solid information, we can only guess at this point.
