News: Watch Dogs Coming To “All Home Consoles” This Winter

watch-dogsUbisoft’s upcoming action/adventure thriller Watch Dogs looks set to release on the next generation of consoles this Winter, more specifically, the Playstation 4 and Xbox 720.

Some promotional material for the game suggests that the title will be available for not just the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, but will also see a release on the aforementioned next-generation consoles.

Over on Kotaku they’re showing off some marketing pieces for Watch Dogs, and it’s the content of the adverts that’s interesting.

On the rear of the advert there’s a quote from G4TV stating Watch Dogs is a “truly next-gen adventure.” There’s no need to use a lot of brain power to work out what they mean by this statement

Another thing worth noting, although Watch Dogs has already been confirmed by Ubisoft for a release on the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, and now seemingly the PS4 and Xbox 720, there’s no mention of the Wii U version.

Whether this is intentional and Ubisoft are in full support of the Wii U being a “next-gen” console and will reveal it at the same time as the Playstation 4 and Xbox 720 versions remains to be seen.

Still, after seeing that play footage at last years E3 (I’ve watched it at least 10 times, it’s that impressive,) I’m really looking forward to seeing what the final product will be like, and knowing Ubisoft, it’s probably going to be another stellar franchise for them to build on.
