Nintendo has officially confirmed the ‘Wii Mini’.
Nintendo has stated that the revised edition of the popular Nintendo Wii will not feature WiFi capabilities (very strange) nor is it backwards compatible with the Gamecube (not so strange) and that it will have a ‘disc tray’ as opposed to the original Wii having a disc slot. The Wii Mini console will retail at $99 and is currently only slated for Canada, but I think it’s pretty certain that the Wii Mini will make its way across North America and Europe.
Interestingly, it has a slight distinct ‘NES’ style design which should call out to the Nintendo loyalists and collectors alike.
