News: Xbox 360 Getting New Model, Xbox Live Giving Free Games To Members

xbox360xboxoneMore news from E3. Expect all of today’s updates to be E3 related, seeing as it’s the biggest day in the gaming calendar each and every year, you shouldn’t be too surprised.

During the Microsoft E3 conference the firm announced that the Xbox 360 would be getting a new design, a design that is “inspired” by the Xbox One’s look.

In addition, the platform maker also revealed that Xbox Live would be giving two games to Gold members each month, much like PlayStation Plus. The first two are to be Assassin’s Creed 2 and Halo 3, fairly old titles but if you’ve not played them and have the space to fill on your hard-drive then you may as well snag them, they’re both stellar games!

The new Xbox 360 design is said to be quieter and smaller than the current models on offer and is available to purchase from this very day.

It’s good to see Microsoft finally give something back to their loyal Xbox Live members, something that Xbox Live users have been voicing for a while, at least since their PlayStation 3 comrades have been offered many a discount and freebie through PlayStation Plus.

As for the new Xbox 360 model, I’m not sure how this is going to go down. Opinions are so far split on the design of the Xbox One, with many saying that it resembles a 1990’s VHS player.
