News: You Can Now Buy Your Playstation Games In Your Browser

playstation 3Something that has been bugging Playstation 3 owners for a while now has finally been resolved – the ability to browse and buy games through your internet browser.

It might seem like a simple thing, but it’s taken long enough for the functionality to become available that all Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita owners are chuffed that it’s finally here.

Sony’s rival, Microsoft, has had the function for a long time, so it’s only right that Playstation users should expect the same. As always though, Sony is a little late to the party, but at least they’ve done it properly this time. After the somewhat disastrous release of the updated Playstation Store for the Playstation 3, so far the online store seems to be working perfectly fine.

Set out much like the Playstation Store on your console, you have the option to browse and buy titles, with the options to search, search via filters etc. Currently only the European version is tested and available, but expect the North America release to be just as smooth.

This is a good, if somewhat late addition to the Playstation family of functions. Being able to browse all the games available for the PS3, PS Vita and PSP is a nifty feature, something that should get a lot of use as it’s a lot easier than navigating the store on your console.

Don’t forget, you can purchase 3 months of Playstation Plus subscription for just £7.99 instead of the usual price of £11.99, giving you a nice little saving and some free games to download and play. If you aren’t a PS Plus subscriber, then it’s a good chance to kill two birds with one stone, go to the Sony Entertainment Network website and purchase through the store and get a feel for it.
