Original Dying Light Xbox Series X|S Patch Out Now

Xbox One X benefits, too!

Techland has released a new update for the original Dying Light game to give it a few boosts on Xbox Series X|S. There was a similar update a couple of weeks ago for the PS4 edition to boost the game’s frame rate and visuals on PS5.

Oddly enough, this new update isn’t strictly limited to the new-gen Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S – the last-gen mid-cycle refresh console, the Xbox One X, will also benefit from this update, though in a much more limited manner than the Series X.

On Xbox Series X, there are three new performance profiles to choose from, two of which offer 60FPS gameplay with differing resolutions, and a Quality Mode that pumps the resolution up to a full 4K while keeping the gameplay at a steady 30FPS.

Xbox Series S and Xbox One X, there is no 60FPS mode, sadly, but improvements are improvements and considering they are free, they’re welcome anyway.

Xbox Series X

  • Performance Mode: 60FPS/Full HD
  • Balanced Mode: Targetting 60FPS/QHD
  • Quality Mode: 30FPS/4K

Xbox Series S / Xbox One X

  • Performance Mode: 30FPS/Full HD
  • Quality Mode: Targetting 30FPS/QHD
  • Introduced new networking utilising the EOS solution
