Fishing controls in Palia
When you’ve cast your line into the water, wait for a bite before trying to reel it in. Two green markers will appear around the fish. Keep the fish within the markers as you reel them in. The fish will try everything they can to try and get out of them, including swimming side to side, thrashing, and jumping.
Hold down left click to cast your line. The fish will nibble the line 2-3 times, but when there is a big splash, you can start reeling it in by pressing and holding left click. From there, you’ll want to keep holding left click.
To keep it within your grasp, move your mouse left and right to keep it within the markers. If the markers turn red, it will damage your fishing rod. When that happens, release left click to stop reeling them in, and try to get them back within the markers.
Then, release the left-click to pull the fish out of the water when it reaches you.
As you progress through the game, you’ll also be able to upgrade your fishing rod. You can buy upgrade recipes from Einar so that you can catch better fish.
