Pokemon GO Noxious Swamp: Release time & info
Niantic has revealed in a blog post that the Pokemon GO Noxious Swamp event will take place from Saturday August 19th to Tuesday August 22nd during Pokemon GO Fest 2023: New York City. It starts at 10am local time and ends at 8pm local time for all players.
This event is the first time players can encounter Shiny Skrelp, so if you want to get your hands on one you’d best take part in the activities.
A lot of Pokemon will also be appearing more frequently in the wild, and there will be field research for players to complete. Special Shadow Raids will also be appearing, featuring Zubat, Houndour, Pidove as one-star battles, and Nidoran, Onix and Sneasel as three-stars.
You can get 2x catch candy during the event, as well as one additional free Raid Pass per day. Team GO Rocket balloons will appear more frequently during the event too.
Pokemon GO Noxious Swamp: Which Pokemon will appear?
During the Pokemon GO Noxious Swamp event you can expect Skrelp to show up in its shiny form, meaning you’ll be able to get a shiny Dragalge too. This Poison/Dragon Pokemon is the first Pokemon to have that type combination!
Aside from Skrelp, more Poison and Dragon type Pokemon will be showing up frequently in the wild. These wild encounters include Zubat, Venonat, Tentacool, Dratini, Surskit, Gulpin, Skorupi, Axew, Tyrunt and Noibat. All of these Pokemon have a chance of being shiny too, so get hunting during the event if you still need any of them!
In one-star raids, you can expect to see Grimer, Alolan Grimer, Hisuian Qwilfish and Hisuian Sneasel. Three-star raids will feature Galarian Weezing, Druddigon and Turtonator.
Field research task encounters will feature Grimer, Dratini, Trapinch, Skrelp, Noibat and Mareanie as rewards.
