The Pokemon GO Solstice Horizons event proves that, like humans, not all Pokemon share the same routines. Your experience with this Pokemon GO event will vary greatly depending on whether you’re an early bird or a night owl. Pokemon GO Solstice Horizons: Dates and times
The Solstice Horizons event will run for just over a week, from Friday, June 16, 2023, at 10am to Sunday, June 25, 2023, at 8pm local time.

Pokemon GO Solstice Horizons: Wild encounters
During the Solstice Horizons event, the Pokemon you encounter in the wild will vary based on the time of day. Some will roam while the sun is out, and others will only show themselves at night.

Wild encounters (Night)

The majority of these Pokemon, aside from Sewaddle, Petilil, Hisuian Sneasel, Stunky, and Phantump, may occasionally appear in their Shiny variants. This is the first time in Pokemon GO that Trainers can encounter Shiny Fomantis.
Pokemon GO Solstice Horizons: Special Research
Trainers level 5 and up that play Pokemon GO during the Solstice Horizons event will receive a brand-new Special Research story titled Starry Skies at no cost. Starry Skies focuses on Cosmog, the Nebula Pokemon. And for $5 USD, you can give Starry Skies a second go and encounter Cosmog again.
Pokemon GO Solstice Horizons: Event Bonuses
The following Event Bonuses will stay active throughout the Solstice Horizons event:
- Double Stardust for catching Pokemon.
- Lunatone and Solrock will both appear in the wild during the event, regardless of your location.

You will encounter the following Pokemon in raids during the Pokemon GO Solstice Horizons event:
One-Star Raids
- Sneasel
- Hisuian Sneasel
- Rockruff
- Fomantis
Three-Star Raids
- Noctowl
- Espeon
- Umbreon
- Staraptor
Five-Star Raids
- Nihilego
Mega Raids
- Mega Sceptile
Sneasel, Rockruff, Fomantis, Nihilego, and Mega Sceptile all have a chance to appear in their Shiny forms.

Pokemon GO Solstice Horizons: Field Research task encounters
Event-themed Field Research tasks will be available during the Solstice Horizons event. Completing these tasks awards encounters with Fomantis, among other undisclosed goodies.
Pokemon GO Solstice Horizons: Collection Challenge
The Solstice Horizons event will also feature a few event-themed Collection Challenges. Complete the Collection Challenges to earn Stardust and additional encounters with Fomantis.
Pokemon GO Solstice Horizons: Solstice Box
Debuting with the Solstice Horizons event is the Solstice Box. This bundle include the following:
- Three Remote Raid Passes
- Nine Super Incubators
- Nine Golden Razz Berries
The Solstice Box will be available in the in-game shop, but not before spending a couple of days exclusively on the Pokemon GO Web Store. Trainers that purchase the Solstice Box on the Pokemon GO Web Store will receive a significant discount.
