Pokémon UNITE First Anniversary: New Playable Pokémon — Glaceon, Buzzwole, and Tyranitar
In tribute to Pokémon UNITE’s first anniversary, six new playable Pokémon, aka Unite licences, will be entering the fray. Glaceon, and Buzzwole, are available right now. Tyranitar will debut on August 15.
The three remaining entries are yet to be revealed. Nintendo will release more information on these mystery Pokémon starting in September.

Pokémon UNITE First Anniversary: New Events — Pika Party And Boss Rush
Pika Party
What better way to celebrate Pokémon UNITE’s first anniversary than with a Pika Party? This goofy new Quick Battle transforms all Pokémon on the field, players and wild Pokémon, into Pikachu. The result is utter mayhem in a war between Pickachu.
Boss Rush
Not a fan of competitive player-versus-player gameplay? Boss Rush, Pokémon UNITE’s new limited-time event, is a PvE-style Quick Battle in which players work together with other players to take down powerful Boss Pokémon that appear one after another in waves. Teams will receive rewards based on their score in the Boss Rush rankings.
Boss Rush is available in Pokémon UNITE through the following periods:
- Period 1: Thursday, July 21, 2022 – Sunday, July 24, 2022
- Period 2: Sunday, July 31, 2022 – Sunday, August 7, 2022
- Period 3: Sunday, August 14, 2022 – Sunday, August 21, 2022
Pokémon UNITE First Anniversary: Log-In Bonus Gifts
Pokémon UNITE players can look forward to some free log-in bonus gifts just for enjoying the game during the first-anniversary event. For up to five days during the event period, logging into Pokémon UNITE will award you a different Unite licence and Holowear. If you own one of the gifted Unite licences or pieces of Holowear already, you’ll instead receive 100 Aeos coins for each instance.

- Day 1: Pikachu + Fashionable Style: Pikachu
- Day 2: Lucario + Concert Style: Lucario
- Day 3: Blastoise + Firefighter Style: Blastoise

- Day 5: Sylveon + Chequered Style: Sylveon

Nintendo has extended two sets of Pokémon UNITE challenges for players to complete throughout the Pokémon UNITE first anniversary celebration. Details relating to these challenges are listed below:
Anniversary Cake Challenge
Running until Thursday, September 2, 2022, at 12:59am BST, every time you log in, battle, and/or complete missions, you’ll receive frosting. Pile up on frosting to slowly build the anniversary cake and earn various rewards. Some of the more prominent prizes include Tuxedo Styles for Cramorant and Crustle.
Icy Glaceon Challenge
Complete the Icy Glaceon Challenge before Sunday, August 15, 2022, at 12:59am BST to unlock Glaceon as a playable Pokémon, plus other rewards like a Glaceon-themed backpack for your trainer.
