Do you have any PS4 games with online multiplayer, but are still reticent to give PlayStation Plus a try? In the period from Friday, December 11th at 12:01 AM Pacific to Sunday, December 13, at 11:59 PM Pacific, online multiplayer will be free for all PS4 players.
“What better way to check out the recently released free DLC Star Wars Battlefront Battle of Jakku before the premier of Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” stated Sony on the PlayStation blog.
We agree, in a way. The lovely combination of Star Wars: Battlefront (review here) and Star Wars: The Force Awakens is tempting. But it’s highly unlikely that people bought Battlefront, a predominantly multiplayer experience, for the threadbare single-player modes alone. We’d hazard a guess that the majority of players who bought Battlefront already have a PS Plus subscription because a legitimate single-player campaign simply wasn’t delivered. That was a deal-breaker to some, and probably part of the reason the game underperformed sales-wise.
For all your other, more complete games, there’s no excuse not to test out your multiplayer skills. So grab your controller, your favourite multiplayer game, and have some weekend fun with your friends. It couldn’t be easier. Well, Shuhei Yoshida could come to your house to set everything up and keep the cups of tea coming, but that’s unlikely to happen…
