We’re more or less used to day-one patches, even if we don’t particularly agree with them. It’s an easy way to fix a few niggling problems within the game without having to delay the game any further, so it’s not all bad, just a bit of a nuisance.
So it’s not really surprising that the awesome Rocket League comes with a massive day-one update to smooth over a few problems. What is surprising is the size of the downloadable update: 1.631GB – that’s more than the game’s mandatory 1.454GB download. Crikey. So before you can even get online and start showing your mates who’s boss, you’ll have to sit through a hefty download. That being said, we’re guessing most PS4 owners have access to at least semi-decent internet so it’s not that big a deal – just a pain in the arse.
Rocket League is part of this month’s PS Plus, so if you’ve somehow let your subscription run dry, we highly recommend renewing it even if it’s just to get your hands on the bonkers Rocket League.
