Rumour: Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End To Bring “Closure” To Drake’s Story; Uncharted 4 To Be The Last?

Oh dear. Nathan Drake’s outing in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End may just be the last adventure we take with the loveable rogue, at least if the damning words of one of the developers of the upcoming PS4 exclusive are anything to go by.

Earlier today GameInformer revealed that the February issue of their ever popular magazine will feature Uncharted 4, along with some new info in the magazine itself.

However, a coverage trailer for the upcoming magazine (yes, magazines get trailers these days!) one of the developers hints that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End may be the last installment in the Sony-exclusive franchise.

Speaking of the trials and tribulations of making the game, especially after having released three already, the developer (whose voice I cannot attach a name to) states the following.

“Trying to take everything Nathan Drake has done, who he is and trying to find closure for that story is really challenging.”

Does it mean that Uncharted 4 will be the last one? It’s not conclusive but my stomach did a lurch when I heard those words spoken.

Still, all good things must come to an end. Too much of a good thing, as the saying goes…

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is expected to release sometime later on this year. You can pre-order your copy from Amazon UK.

Will you cry tears of despair if this is the last adventure? Or will you forget Drake and his happy gang and move on? Let us know down below.

  1. Shame it’s been milked quick. Uncharted 4 will be the 5th game in the series. Somehow, I don’t think it’ll make the grade. Same sort of locations and game play, but can’t say that bothers me much. The Last of Us came out of nowhere (as did Uncharted) and we all know there’s going to be a sequel. Shame the sequel wasn’t coming before Uncharted 4. But looking at the PS3, not many of Sony’s games delivered and nothing really delivered on the Vita due to a massive lack of games. It’ll probably be the same case with the PS4 (as with the PS3). Will be interesting to see how The Order turns out, when you consider it looks like a Gears of War clone set in the Sherlock Homes era. Last gen, I only rated Uncharted, The Last of Us and God of War 3 as AAA games. Sort of looking forward to Uncharted 4 and The Order, but The Last of Us 2 will be the biggie.

    1. Lmao are you dumb ? Sony had tsome of the most highest rated and critically acclaimed games last gen. Like Uncharted 2, GOW3, and TLOU. All better than anything MS has ever put out. So how didn’t PS3 deliver ? When it had way more exclusives in both quality and quantity ? I guess you never owned a PS3 or is just that ignorant.

      1. I was going to put this clueless moron in his place but thank you, you did it for me already.

I will add that the 360 was just done by 2009 since it literally was the same stuff over and over again until Xbone. Gears, Halo, Forza, Fable, repeat. Alan Wake was the only different thing (and it was far from a masterpiece or even decent) but it came to PC anyway like it was meant to originally.
Oh and The Order being a Gears clone yet again, really??? So its a macho steroid stupid looking character models, on the generic Unreal 3 engine, looking game then??? Nope don’t think so.

    1. better hope you’re right about that..because lotta gamers will be more than pissed off if Nathan Drake is no more. Personally I wouldn’t mind if this was the end though Nathan had a good run and that’s what counts.
