If, like me, your Amiibo purchasing habits are akin to a 14 year old girl refreshing Ticketmaster’s site to grab One Direction concert tickets the minute they go on sale then you may want to head on over to Best Buy’s site because the latest Smash Bros. Amiibo, Ryu and Famicom R.O.B, have just gone up for pre-order.
They are currently sitting at the standard Amiibo price of $12.99 a pop – with Ryu’s expected launch date being the 8th of March and Famicom R.O.B’s being the 18th of March. However, those release dates have only been confirmed for the US, so her majesty’s most loyal subjects may have to wait a little longer.
Nintendo’s latest Amiibo financial forecast was back in September 2015, with Nintendo announcing that 29.70 million Amiibo (figures and cards totalled) had been sold in total – with at least half of those currently sitting in The Games Cabin – it’s clear that Nintendo have struck gold with the Amiibo.
However, the Lucas Amiibo will be hitting the shelves in just a few days, so it will beat Ryu and Famicom R.O.B out of the gate.
