Bust Nazi skulls from May 26th
Rebellion has announced that Sniper Elite 5 will be releasing on May 26th, 2022 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
The great news for Xbox players is that Sniper Elite 5 will be available via Xbox Game Pass on release day, meaning if you’re a subscriber to Microsoft’s service, you won’t have to pay any extra to blow holes in Nazi skulls. Lovely stuff.
Today’s announcement comes with a brand new trailer showing series hero Karl Fairburne doing what he does best. It’s a bit gory and graphic, so look away if that’s not your cup of tea. But I’d ask the question – what are you doing here, then?
Sniper Elite 5 takes place during the Second World War, with Karl uncovering a Nazi plot to give the aggressors the upper hand with Operation Kraken, headed by Nazi chief Abelard Möller.
Pre-orders for Sniper Elite 5 are open today, but what do you get for plinking down the early pennies? If you pre-order Sniper Elite 5, you’ll get access to extra missions, collectables, and the P.1938 Suppressed Pistol – available only to those who pre-order.
The Sniper Elite 5 Deluxe Edition includes all of the pre-order content as well as the Season Pass that will grant players access to the post-launch two-part campaign. You’ll also get two weapon skin packs, two character packs, and six weapon packs.
Sniper Elite 5’s story mode can play solo or in co-op with an online buddy. For those wanting to get competitive, there’s a new Invasion Mode where players can drop into each other’s games and take on the role of an opposing sniper. It’s got to be worth a look, just to annoy some random on the other side of the world.
If being an annoying brat isn’t enough for you, there will also be a variety of multiplayer game modes for up to 16 players to bust each other’s testes with high-powered rifles. Less painful than paintball, and you don’t have to go outside.
So, one more time for those at the back: Sniper Elite launches May 26th, 2022 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. If you’re an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, you’ll get it day one, but you won’t get the pre-order goodies.
