Sorceress Class Guide Overview

The Sorceress in Lost Ark is a Mage type class that wields an Elemental Staff. The Sorceress is a Ranged DPS, safely exploding targets from a distance. They fight with powerful elemental magic spells, dominating the field with Fire, Ice, and Lightning spells. Their musical instrument is a Pan Flute.

Role of a Sorceress

In PvE, they provide excellent damage regardless of the class engraving. Keeping the damage debuff on the target is very easy with rotating in the use of only one skill. It can be difficult to land many abilities due to the long cast times associated with their skills.

In PvP, they are largely utilized as a long ranged disruptor, preventing enemy positioning and offensively protecting allies from being locked out.

Strengths

• High Burst or Sustained Damage
• Provides Debuff on Target that increases targets damage taken
• Easy to learn

Weaknesses

• Lower health pool and defense stat
• Casting skills can be hard to time the delayed damage
• Mobility at the cost of damage potential

Identity Gauge

Their Identity Gauge, the Arcane Meter, fills up upon successful hits to enemies with skills. When above 30% gauge, 2 abilities become available for use: Arcane Rupture and Blink..

• Magic Enhanced State (Meter above 30%): 10% Increased elemental damage, faster casting speed.
• Arcane Torrent (Meter at 100%): 20% Increased elemental damage, faster casting speed. Fire skills weakpoint +1 lvl. Lightning skills stagger +1 lvl. Faster cooldown for all skills (except Dodge, Quick Rebound and Awakening skills).
  • While using either of abilities, energy stored within the Arcane Meter is slowly consumed.
• Blink (30%+): Teleport to the mouse’s position; able to pass through opponents.

Level 50 Playstyles

There are two distinct playstyles that players can choose from through the use of the Sorceress‘s Class Engravings:

• Reflux – Arcane Rupture can no longer be used. Increases damage of all skills and reduces their cooldowns.
• Igniter – Arcane Torrent (Meter at 100%) instantly decreases remaining skill cooldowns by 50%. Increases Crit Rate and Crit Damage

Both playstyles are viable in end game content. Igniter seems to be the more popular playstyle among the highest performing players. Igniter playstyle involves dealing very high burst damage during the use of Arcane Torrent. Damage dealt outside of this period of burst damage is very minimal and is meant to restore the identity gauge. Reflux playstyle involves constant casting of abilities due to their low cooldowns. It is generally less punishing if skills miss as there is more throughput available with this engraving.

For optimal play, players should make use of the 2 Skill Presets that they have access to for free. Generally speaking, they should be set up for:

2. Bosses: Single Target Skills utilized in Guardian Raids and Abyss Dungeons

Sorceress Builds for Raids – Lost Ark

Sorceress PvP Guide

In Player versus Player Arenas, Sorceress‘s are largely utilized as a long ranged disruptor, preventing enemy positioning and offensively protecting allies from being locked out. Their damage is not the greatest, especially the Awakening skills vs other classes. A good Sorceress will enable their team to deal damage while staying back and interrupting the enemies plays. They have quite a few Super Armor abilities, however, their mobility is lower than other classes.

Tip: Only use the Identity Skill: Blink to make sure you can avoid being caught by a melee class and locked out by long combos.

Feel free to change whatever skills you like depending on your playstyle and how you see fit.

Useful Alternative:

• Swap Squall for Ice Shower (lvl 10) (Tripods 1-3-1) for a different close ranged defensive skill.

Primary

Firstly, acquire Igniter Lv. 3; this is the most important one. Precision Dagger is next. Then Fast Speed for faster casting animations.

Reflux Build

Primary

Firstly, focus on getting Reflux Lv. 3, this is the most important for this build. Then Precision Dagger Lv. 3. Finally, attaining at least Grudge Lv. 2, as the negative effects are too punishing with little damage output at Lv. 1. In tier 1, you can choose from the list of Optional engravings instead of Grudge.

Gear Sets

Depending on your playstyle and what’s available to you, you may want to take two 2-set bonuses instead of a full 5-set Bonus.
