The opening broadcast in Splatoon 3 is called the Anarchy Splatcast, a TV Show featuring Frye, Shiver, and fan favourite, Big Man. These three characters make up the band known as Deep Cut and will inform you about the current maps and game modes available at the time. However, a huge difference between Splatoon 3 and the previous two games is being able to listen to the broadcast in the top-left corner of the screen – meaning that you don’t need to sit through mountains of text each time you play.

Additionally, the Splatoon 3 idols have a major role in the game’s single-player campaign known as Return of the Mammalians – they are also joined by Callie and Marie – the idols from the first game. Callie and Marie hosted the Inkopolis News Show in the original Splatoon and formed the Squid Sisters idol group – but they were replaced by another idol duo in its sequel, Splatoon 2.

Splatoon 2 introduced us to Pearl and Marina, known together as Off The Hook, and they took over the role of presenting players with the latest in-game news. They became especially popular with fans, which led Nintendo to hosting a live in-person event featuring music from the series.

After playing for a while, you will surely become accustomed to being greeted by Frye, Shiver, and Big Man in Splatoon 3. They have produced a new musical track, which you can listen to here. That’s everything you need to know about the Splatoon 3 idols.
