Stick it to Konami With This Awesome VHS Style Box Art for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Konami has really done nothing to help itself out in recent months. After cancelling the Silent Hills project and removing all traces of Hideo Kojima’s existence, fans are pretty peeved.

When it transpired that the publisher had removed the ‘A Hideo Kojima Game’ from Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’s box art, fans of the legendary director went bananas. Recently we’ve seen some attempts to fight back at Konami’s poor form by way of downloadable and printable box art covers for the upcoming open-world stealth game. The latest such fan creation really is pretty cool. Reddit user ‘Gator Galore‘ has created a cracking box-art sleeve for MGSV: TPP in the style of an old-fashioned VHS cassette case. You can have a peek at it in the header image above, and, if you really like it, you can download it here [no longer working, new links down below] and have it ready for when the game comes out on September 1st.

[Update] The link above no longer seems to work – but fear not. Find below the links to the printable covers for each system.

    1. I, uhm, Will… there are links for the printable versions given right there in the article. 😉

I’m not usually one for unofficial alterations or similar, and I even like the design of the actual cover, but this one is too great to pass up.

  1. Aah, the words that should always be there…. “A Hideo Kojima Game”

Though, I have one question, how does one Print this? Does it need special paper or something different than the normal measurements of plain printer-paper? 8.5″ by 11″?
