How do you breed cows in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life?
Cow breeding in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life is fairly simple once you know what to do. All you need to do is have a male and a female cow on your farm and select the cow you want to breed.
You can order cows from Takakura’s ledger, or use it to select which cows you want to breed from the ones you already have in-game. You’ll have to breed a male cow with a female cow. If you order a male cow, your female cow will become pregnant after the male matures.
You’ll start the game off with a Normal Cow, which will always be female. Over time you can purchase more cows for your farm and choose which breeds you want.
Your cow will be ready to give birth after 20 days. It’ll need to be separated into the breeding pen to give birth safely. You’ll also have to feed the baby cow by hand for 10 days before it can eat by itself, and you’ll have to collect Mother’s Milk from the female cow to give to the baby.
What are the different cow breeds in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life?
Having a variety of cows in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life will help a lot when it comes to cow breeding. Here are all the different cow breeds and how much they will cost you.
Breed | Cost |
Normal Male Cow | 2,500g |
Normal Female Cow | 5,000g |
Brown Male Cow | 10,000g |
Brown Female Cow | 20,000g |
Marble Male Cow | 10,000g |
Marble Female Cow | 20,000g |
Star Male Cow | 25,000g |
Star Female Cow | 50,000g |
As you can see, each female cow will cost you double the amount of a male cow from the same variety. The females will be able to produce milk depending on their variety, so a Brown Cow will produce Brown Milk and a Marble Cow will produce Marble Milk.
Breeding the same variety of cow such as two Brown Cows should produce another cow of that type, but you can crossbreed them too. There’s no guarantee you’ll get a specific type if you do this, as it could be either of the two variations.
If you are breeding cows and the result isn’t what you wanted, you can try reloading an earlier save after quitting the game. Make sure you save frequently if you’re searching for specific breeds.
