Although the information was brief, there was enough information shown about the new set to get fans and players excited. TFT Set 7 will feature a dragon theme. In the dev video, it was stated that the event set “takes place in the dragon realms, where clans compete for power across various islands, each worshipping their own powerful ancient dragons locked behind the mysteries of dormant shrines.”

Riot Games’ game design director Stephen “Mortdog” Mortimer has recently teased on his stream that they are planning to bring back the Armory mechanic in TFT Set 7.

Hextech Augments in TFT Set 7
Teamfight Tactics’ distinguishing feature from other auto battlers previously was its dependence on itemization and the incredibly powerful items that units can wield. While this worked to some extent, it failed to truly distinguish Teamfight Tactics as its own unique title in the auto battler space. Augments have fixed this, with a three-pointed branching decision tree that can drastically affect the way a game of Teamfight Tactics plays.
From Clear Mind to Rich Get Richer and Level Up, some augments introduce entirely new strategies for players to experiment and play with. This has led to the most recent Teamfight Tactics set being Riot Games’ most successful to date, with a staggering jump in both the number of active players and games played. Riot is responding by doubling down on Gadgets and Gizmos’ best feature for TFT Set 7.
Release date of TFT Set 7
The first iteration will, like always, be on the PBE. This is a public testing server where League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics are available to have things tested. By doing this, Riot Games are able to not only check out how their latest patch might work, but also brand new things like champions or entire TFT sets.
There is some speculation as to when this set comes out but the battlepass is generally a dead giveaway. With it ending on May 24, that means Set 7 will likely be released on May 25 with TFT Patch 12.10. That means that Set 7 PBE Release Date will be on the patch before which is May 11 with Patch 12.9.
The reason these patches make sense is that they are three months or so from when TFT Set 6 PBE came out. As this is the current schedule for TFT of having a new Set or a .5 Set every three months, it is safe to assume that they should be coming out around this time.
