Feature: The 7 Wii Games You Must Play: No.5: Xenoblade Chronicles

Another day, another game listed in my top 7 games masterpieces of the Wii’s era.  Title number 5 is Xenoblade Chronicles. Xenoblade is a game by developer Monolith Software who have made many titles for many systems, including Disaster: Day of Crisis for Wii.

Xenoblade is a JRPG (Japanese – role playing game) and a darn great one! In fact I can say that it’s the best JRPG of this generation by quite a clear distance. It’s a genre which hasn’t seen much innovation for quite a while but Xenoblade buck the trend and adds clear innovation from the storytelling to the fantastic combat system.

With around 45 – 50 hours of story, 100+ quests, and big scaled boss battles, a great soundtrack and very well done voice acting, you can expect a fantastic role-playing experience.

Though it can be quite hard not to think with how scaly the game is that it should be running on a more powerful system, the graphical art syle is good, but not great, there’s quite a bit of fuzziness around character models and lacking detail in many areas. Now in theory this may sound off-putting but once you start the game it completely goes over your head, adapting to the game and being immersed in this fantastic adventure won’t have you a single worry.

Chances are if you love RPG’s in general and own a Wii, then you have already experienced this incredible game, on the other hand if you haven’t and you do own a Wii or are about to own a brand new Wii U, then you need to play this game, I can assure you it will fulfill all of your RPG needs.

Have you played Xenoblade Chronicles? What did you think of it? Let us know in the comments below.
