If you’re still having a good time with Robomodo’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5, your enjoyment will be going up somewhat in the coming days and weeks. If you’re not having a good time with the game, sorry, even this update is unlikely to fix the many problems the game is plagued with.
Back when Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 released on the PS4 and Xbox One, Activision promised that Robomodo would be releasing a patch to help smooth over a few of the game’s problems. It’s been almost two months and we’ve seen nothing from the developer, though we have been assured in recent days that the update is “coming soon” from the developer.
The update isn’t just going to fix the problems with the game, but it will actually improve it, according to Robomodo. The game will receive new levels to skate around in, new characters to skate around as, and the unspecified “more” which we’ll have to wait and see about. What we do know is that the new levels will be original designs by Robomodo and not tweaked remakes of previous maps from other games in the series.
THPS 5 was due to release on Xbox 360 and PS3 earlier this month, but it has since been delayed until March 2016. If you’re holding out for the last-gen version, it’s probably better to let that dream die. We reckon Activision will use the announcement of another big-name game to mask the cancellation of the last-gen versions.
Tony Hawk’s didn’t go down too well with The Games Cabin, but perhaps we’ll give it another go once the update is out and see if it’s worth at least picking up on the cheap.
