Hello summoners, it’s is time to cover the best picks for Support lane in Patch 12.7. The Patch brough some interesting changes but a lot of strong champions have stayed on top. These champions are META right now and there will be a lot of severe balance changes needed to remove them from the top of the board.
Soraka has always been one of the best support picks in the game. She was the target of a loads of jokes due to her appearance before her rework and her abilities really looked a bit crappy. But ever since Riot has reworked her he has the power and the style that one support needs. She is an Enchanter type of support meaning that her main ability and role in the game is not to take aggro on herself, but rather heal her allies and cause a commotion among the enemy team with her silence. She is the top pick for Patch 12.7
P – Salvation
INNATE: Soraka gains 70% bonus movement speed while moving towards nearby allied champions that are below 40% of their maximum health.
Q – Starcall
ACTIVE: Soraka calls down a star upon the target location, granting sight of the area before landing after 0.25 − 1 (based on target range) seconds, dealing magic damage to enemies within and slowing them by 30% for 1.5 seconds.
Hitting at least one enemy champion returns the star dust toward Soraka, granting her Rejuvenation for 2.5 seconds which heals her every 0.5 seconds and grants her bonus movement speed that decays over the duration.
While Soraka is Rejuvenated, Astral Infusion will also grant the effects of Rejuvenation to the targeted ally for the same duration.
W – Astral Infusion
ACTIVE: Soraka heals the target allied champion (excluding herself).
If cast while Rejuvenated, the health cost will be reduced by a percentage.
Astral Infusion cannot be cast if Soraka is below 5% of her maximum health.
E – Equinox
ACTIVE: Soraka creates a celestial zone at the target location, dealing magic damage to enemy champions within the area at the time of cast. The zone then persists for 1.5 seconds, silencing all enemies within.
After the duration, the zone detonates, dealing the same magic damage to all enemy champions within the area and rooting them for a duration.
R – Wish
ACTIVE: Soraka calls upon the stars, removing Grievous Wounds from herself and all allied champions before healing herself and them, increased by 50% on targets below 40% of their maximum health.
Janna is an Enchanter type of support like Soraka and Sona. Her kit revolves around the power of wind. Quite useful support that the uses her tornadoes to disrupt enemy team. Her ultimate is great ability to turn the teamfight in your advantage or even escape it if it is not going according to plan. She is a good support overhaul but not the easiest one to master.
P – Tailwind
INNATE: Janna gains 8% bonus movement speed while moving towards nearby allied champions, and grants them the same amount when they are moving towards her.
Q – Howling Gale
ACTIVE: Janna summons a whirlwind at her current location that charges up over 3 seconds, increasing its range, speed, damage, and knock up duration per second over the duration.
Howling Gale can be recast at any time within the duration, and does so automatically after the duration.
RECAST: The whirlwind flies in the target direction over 1.25 seconds, dealing magic damage to enemies hit and knocking them up for 0.5 − 1.25 (based on seconds charged) seconds.
W – Zephyr
PASSIVE: While Zephyr is not on cooldown, Janna is ghosted and gains bonus movement speed.
ACTIVE: Janna sends an air elemental at the target enemy that upon arrival deals them magic damage and slows them for 3 seconds, capped at 99%.

ACTIVE: Janna can target an allied champion, turret, or herself to grant them a shield that decays over 5 seconds after the initial 1.25 seconds.
While the shield holds, the target gains bonus attack damage.
R – Monsoon
ACTIVE: Janna unleashes a blast that knocks back all nearby enemies to up to 875 units over 0.5 seconds based on their proximity, though not through terrain.
Janna also channels the winds for up to 3 seconds, healing nearby allies every 0.25 seconds.
Zyra was originally designed as a mid lane champion, but quickly shifted to support role, and you are not likely to see her in any other lane. She is one of mage support champions that are Veigar and Brand. She does have a decent utility and if you opt for some ability power items she can be a great addition to the team especially in the form of defending surprise ganks and in teamifhgts since her ultimate has a knock up and it is a game changer. It works well with Yasuo’s and Malphite’s ultimate.
P – Garden of Thorns
INNATE: Periodically, Zyra spawns one or two Seeds nearby that last for 30 seconds, granting sight over the surrounding area for 1 second.
After 1 second, enemy champions can destroy Seeds by stepping on them.
Zyra can only have a total of 8 Seeds planted at a time, preserving Seeds spawned by Rampant Growth over Seeds spawned by Garden of Thorns.
Q – Deadly Spines

If Deadly Spine hits a Seed, it sprouts into a Thorn Spitter, which remains on the battlefield for 8 seconds.
W – Rampant Growth
PASSIVE: Zyra periodically stores a Seed, up to 2. Killing an enemy unit grants 20% charge toward a Seed, increased to 100% for large enemy units and whenever scoring a takedown against an enemy champion.
ACTIVE: Zyra plants a Seed at the target location, which lasts for 60 seconds and grants sight over the surrounding area, though decreasing in radius after 1 second.
After 1.5 seconds, enemy champions can destroy Seeds by stepping on them, but doing so reveals them for 2 seconds.
E – Grasping Roots
ACTIVE: Zyra sends a surge of vines in the target direction, dealing magic damage to all enemies within their path and rooting them for a duration.
If Grasping Roots hits a Seed, it sprouts into a Vine Lasher, which remains on the battlefield for 8 seconds.
R – Stranglethorns
ACTIVE: Zyra summons a monstrous thicket at the target location, dealing magic damage to all enemies within the area as it expands.
After 2 seconds, the vines snap upward, knocking up all enemies within the area for 1 second.
Plants hit by the thicket become enraged, restoring 50% of their current health, increasing their maximum health by 50%, gaining 25% increased size and refreshing their duration while the thicket expands. Additionally they attack in a flurry, launching two shots per attack, dealing 「 150% damage per flurry. 」
Sona is an enchanter type of support champion that focuses on healing and utility. She is quite squshy but if you don’t focus her in the early game you probably will end up dead and losing your lane hard. She is quite strong in the late game and becomes almost unkillable. She is quite hard to focus late game since there are a lot more champions that have priority when it comes to focus. This can be a problem to enemy team since she will heal everyone and can stun your whole team with one good ultimate and change the course of the whole game.
P – Power Chord
INNATE – MELODY: Sona’s basic abilities each generate a unique aura for 3 seconds that empowers her and all targetable allied champions who enter its radius, and casting them places her other basic abilities that are not on cooldown on a 0.5-second cooldown.
INNATE – POWER CHORD: After casting 3 basic abilities, Sona’s next basic attack has an uncancelable windup, deals 20 − 240 (based on level) (+ 20% AP) bonus magic damage and applies an additional effect depending on the last basic ability cast.
Gaining Power Chord’s empowered attack resets Sona’s basic attack timer.
INNATE – ACCELERANDO: Sona gains a stack of Accelerando each time she hits an enemy with Hymn of Valor or supports an ally with Aria of Perseverance, stacking up to 120 times. Each stack grants her 0.5 basic ability haste, up to 60 basic ability haste at maximum stacks. If she has maximum stacks, the current cooldown of Crescendo is reduced by 1.5 seconds each time instead.
Q – Hymn of Valor
ACTIVE: Sona sends out bolts of sound to the two nearest visible enemies, prioritizing champions, each dealing magic damage to their target upon arrival and granting sight of the area around them for 1 second.
MELODY: Sona and tagged allied champions deal bonus magic damage on their next basic attack within 5 seconds.
Sona gains a stack of Accelerando for each bolt that damages an enemy champion.
POWER CHORD – STACCATO: Power Chord deals 28 − 336 (based on level) (+ 28% AP) total magic damage.

MELODY: Tagged allied champions gain bonus movement speed for 3 seconds.
POWER CHORD – TEMPO: Power Chord slows its target by 40% (+ 4% per 100 AP) for 2 seconds, capped at a maximum of 99%.
