Teamfight Tactics is a big game. When I say big, I mean it. At its peak the game had 10 million users in just one day. And as the time passes the community is getting even bigger.

Introduction

As you can imagine, game this big can not work perfectly all the time and can sometimes have an issue or two. Luckily for you, there is a solution for almost any problem you can encounter. We are here  to help. So, don’t worry about it.

Teamfight Tactics has released a mobile app in 2019. Both for Android and Ios operative systems. The most errors you can encounter while playing Teamfight Tactics are with the app itself. The app is relatively new, and for a short period of time it has been out, it hasn’t got so many problems with it, like some of the newer apps tend to have.

Known issues in TFT Mobile

I’m stuck on a loading screen

If you’ve lost your internet connection before signing in with your Riot Account, you may end up stuck on a white loading screen.
Solution? Completely close and restart the App. If that doesn’t work, I recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

The login button didn’t appear

If you don’t see the login button, you may have connected to your network after the screen loaded.
Solution? Force close and restart the app once you’re securely connected to the internet.

The app doesn’t start the tutorial immediately

After tapping the Start button, there may be a bit of a lag before the Tutorial starts. While there isn’t a fix for this, the Tutorial should start relatively shortly.

I was kicked back to a loading screen

Sometimes, when the network disconnects, it can push you back to the login screen.
Solution? If this happens, just force restart the app!

A player wasn’t on the end game stats screen

This is a visual error, all players’ progress will still be accounted for.

If you are still having problems:

Restart Your Device

It’s amazing how often turning devices on and off again can help a wide range of technical issues. Remember, it’s important to give your phone a rest sometime, just like you would a computer.

You can soft restart your device by holding the power button until a popup gives you the option to select restart.

You can also hard restart your device by simply holding the power button down for 30 seconds.

If restarting your device doesn’t work, it’s time to move onto more systematic troubleshooting. Remember, every device is different, so be sure to contact your

Step 1: Update and Relaunch

Make sure that your phone is up to date

Ensuring your operating system is properly updated can often help its ability to interface with other applications.

To update your phone:

  • Open your phone’s Settings.
  • Tap System -> Advanced -> System Update.
  • Follow the steps indicated on your device.

Make sure your app is up to date

The game itself is the next step in ensuring your troubleshooting on a properly updated playing field. To make sure the app is up to date:

  • Open the Google Play Store on your device.
  • Tap Menu -> My apps & games.
  • Tap Update next to any apps with available updates (or Update All).

Make sure that the app has required permissions

You may have declined the access to storage pop-up that appears during an update or when first launching the app, but worry not. You can set it up manually.

  • Open your phone’s Settings.
  • Tap on Apps and scroll until you find the Riot Games app in question.
  • Find the Permissions, and tap on it.
  • Make sure that Storage is ticked.

Step 2: Troubleshooting the Game

If your phone and the app are both properly updated, but you’re still encountering crashes, it’s time to try and pinpoint the root of your gaming issues.

Force stop the game

  • The first step is to force stop the game itself if it’s frozen on your screen. You can do this by:
  • Opening your phone’s Settings.
  • Tap Apps & notifications and then tap the Riot Games product you are troubleshooting.
  • If you don’t see it immediately, tap See all apps.
  • Tap Force Stop

The audio isn’t working

  • Make sure the media volume is set appropriately & the phone is not on silent.
  • Make sure that the Audio is turned on in the app settings.
  • Make sure that another music player app is not cutting the sound for your game.

Apps like Google Play Music and SoundCloud can pause or mute the sound of other apps when they’re playing a song.

You are not getting notifications

  • Open Settings.
  • Go to Notifications.
  • Find the Riot game in question, and tap on it.
  • Tap Allow Notifications to make sure everything is properly enabled.

Step 3: Clear Data

Clear the app’s cache

When you’re browsing the internet or simply using your phone, your device will create data storage to help curate your experience. However, sometimes that extra fluff can gum up the works. When that happens, it’s time to clear the cache for an optimal experience. To do so:

  • Open your phone’s Settings.
  • Tap Apps & notifications.
  • Tap on the game you’re troubleshooting. If you don’t see it, tap See all apps.
  • Tap Storage & cache, and then tap Clear cache.

Clear app data

To clear your app data:

  • Open your phone’s Settings.
  • Tap Apps & notifications.
  • Tap on the game you’re troubleshooting. If you don’t see it, tap See all apps.
  • Tap Storage & cache, and then tap Clear Storage or Clear Data. Be sure to confirm your decision.

Uninstall the app

To uninstall the app:

  • Tap and hold the application icon for the game you wish to uninstall.
  • To see your options, start dragging the app.
  • Drag the app to Uninstall at the top of the screen.
  • If you don’t see Uninstall, you can’t uninstall the app.
  • Lift your finger.
  • Confirm your decision to uninstall the app.

Pro tip

Try closing out any optimization programs. Many of them have the ability to auto-kill an app once a certain memory or battery threshold is reached, which can lead to interference in any updates or processes.

Step 4: Reinstall & Re-enable Apps

Once you’ve purchased an application on Google Play, you can re-download it without having to pay again, even on a new device. However, each device mush have the same Google Account on it. Remember, to ensure game data is properly saved, it is recommended you upgrade to a Riot Account. When it comes to reacquiring various apps, you can:

  • Install an app on more than one Android device.
  • Install an app on a new Android device.
  • Reinstall an app you bought but deleted.
  • Also, if you turned off an app that came with your device, you can turn it back on.
