The time has finally come: The Witcher 3 has its first expansion called Hearts of Stone. A couple of days ago CD Projekt Red announced via twitter that the add-on will be out on October 13th for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
CD Projekt has stated several times that both expansions together would add about 30 more hours of gameplay. An interesting question is if these expansions will take place before, during, or after the events of the main quest line, something that isn’t yet known.
This expansion comes after the last piece of a 16-part free DLC set up that CD Projekt Red started soon after the release of the game.
While none of this has been especially normal in terms of DLC and old-fashioned expansion packs, it is delightful to see a game company that doesn’t adhere to the current system of nickel and diming consumers.
Below we have a teaser for the expansion that was revealed at the same time as the release date.
