COD Mobile Class Chips Explained
Class Chips give Operators special abilities in the COD Mobile battle royale mode, with the Trap Master having the ability to place down electric tripwires to secure areas, for example. To activate one of these special abilities, you will need to press the button directly on the right side of the screen, in the middle, which also has a glow around it when available.
Each Operator has their own unique ability, but you can also upgrade your Class Chips to improve these abilities for the duration of a battle royale match. When you’re in a game, wait for a notification on the screen which states, “Chip Machines Activated.” After this occurs, if you check your map and head to the nearest purple square icon, you can find a Chip Station. Interact with this, and you will collect an upgrade for your special ability. You’ll also know this has happened, as the ability button will have a purple glow.
These upgrades make your special ability more powerful, granting it bonus effects, improved recharge time, increased duration, and sometimes you can earn other abilities, such as the Ninja who gains silent footsteps once the Class Chip has been upgraded.
