Are you interested in learning more about the brand-new Pokemon GO Hatch Days? Hatch Days are a new event type in Pokemon GO, debuting for the first time in July 2023. This primer will review Pokemon GO Hatch Days, including how to participate and what these special limited-time events are all about.
What is a Hatch Day in Pokemon GO?
Hatch Days in Pokemon GO are like Community Days, Research Days, and Raid Days in that they focus on specific featured Pokemon. While a Community Day event increases your chances of finding the featured Pokemon via wild encounters, a Hatch Day event elevates your odds of hatching the featured Pokemon.
During Hatch Days, Trainers are far more likely to hatch the featured Pokemon from 2 km Eggs than they would be on a regular day of Pokemon GO. Even better, the featured Pokemon you hatch on a Hatch Day have an increased chance of hatching as a Shiny.

Pokemon GO Hatch Days: How to play
To participate in a Hatch Day, mark the date and time of the next Hatch Day on your calendar. Pokemon GO’s first-ever Hatch Day, Riolu Hatch Day, begins on Saturday, July 22, 2023.
Hatch Days go by quickly, so you’ll want to prepare to hatch as many Eggs as possible in the limited timeframe. For example, Riolu Hatch Day is scheduled to occur from 2pm to 5pm local time, only remaining active for a mere three hours. With this in mind, have your walking shoes at the door and load up on Incubators so that you can take full advantage of Hatch Days.
