When is the Honkai: Star Rail PS4 and PS5 release window?
Announced in a Summer Game Fest trailer, the Honkai: Star Rail PS5 release window is officially Q4 2023. Whilst we still don’t have an exact date for the new port, this means PlayStation 5 players will get to play the game on the console sometime between October and December 2023.
However, in the aforementioned trailer, there was no mention of the Honkai: Star Rail PS4 release window whatsoever. A reason for this is most likely that the game needs more time for optimisation on the older PS4 hardware.
Since there clearly wasn’t also a cancellation of the last-gen port – which was definitely included in their initial PlayStation version announcement in March – it’s likely the Honkai: Star Rail PS4 release window will be later than the PS5 version, at this time being undisclosed.
So, for now, we’ll just have to keep a keen eye out for more specifics for both the specific PS4 and PS5 release dates – or try the beta/Technical Test detailed below.

When is the Honkai: Star Rail PS4 and PS5 beta Technical Test?
Players will have the opportunity to sign up for this Beta Technical Test for Honkai: Star Rail until August 27, 2023, at 1AM PT / 4AM ET / 9AM BST. Once it has closed, the official Beta Technical Test will then commence on September 4, 2023 at 1 AM PT / 4 AM ET / 9 AM BST.
Make sure you’ve signed up if you want a chance to play this game on your console. If you want to sign up for it, here is how you do so:
- Go to the Honkai: Star Rail Technical Test website
- Click the “Sign-up” button
- Login with your HoYoverse account
- Click “Start” and complete the survey
- Click X and you’ll see another pop-up if your sign-up was successful
