Star’s Breath is an essential material to use in the Gear Honing process in Lost Ark. When you are gearing up through Tier 1, you will notice that upgrading gear passed +10 can get very challenging. When you are trying to get from +14 to +15, you only have a 40% chance to succeed the upgrade! This is a key reason that Star’s Breath is so essential to save your hard earned honing materials.

The main source of Star’s Breath is via the Excavating Trade Skill. By leveling your excavating, and crafting and completing Treasure Maps, you can obtain essential materials to increase the success rate of your upgrades.
Star’s Breath Via Una Tasks

You can earn Star’s Breath as a reward from Una Tasks. Look for the blue star icon beside the rewards when choosing your Una Tasks. You are limited to 3 Daily Una Tasks per day, so if you are looking for more, continue onto the next section about Secret Site Maps.
How To Get Star’s Breath in Lost Ark via Secret Maps
- Research Arthetine Archaeological Site Map at your Stronghold (Requires Lv. 2 Workshop)
- Craft Arthetine Archaeological Site Maps
- Go to and complete the site maps
1. Research Arthetine Archaeological Site Map

At your Stronghold’s Lab, find and research the “Craft Method: Arthetine Treasure Map”. This will be under the “Crafting Recipe Addition” section.
2. Craft Arthetine Archaeological Site Map

In your Stronghold’s Crafting Workshop, once you have unlocked the Arthetine Site Map, you will need to craft it. To craft one map, it will take approximately 3.5 hours (depending on your other research upgrades). It will cost you:
- 170 Rare Relics
- 10 Gold (Subject to other decreases based on research)
You can obtain Rare Relics through normal Excavating. The rare relics can be found pretty much anywhere. For the best place to farm Caldarr Relics, follow this quick guide. You can also get the rare relics here very easily.
3. Complete The Arthetine Secret Map for Star’s Breath

Next, you will need to head out to where the map tells you to go. Once you go to this secret map and complete the tasks, you will be rewarded with materials. Among these materials will be Star’s Breath! You can use these towards your Tier 1 upgrades. We suggest saving all of your Star’s Breath until you are +13 or +14 in Tier 1. Use your stock for the remaining upgrades so you don’t waste the copious amounts of required materials!
