If you want to play with your friends around the world, you may need to change regions in League of Legends: Wild Rift. It’s a pain in the butt, but doing this will allow you to invite your friends to the party. Fair warning though: it will be a lengthy process. Here’s how to change regions in League of Legends: Wild Rift.
- League of Legends: Wild Rift now has a high-frame rate mode, making this game even prettier on phones.
How to change region in League of Legends: Wild Rift
Unfortunately, you cannot change regions in League of Legends: Wild Rift manually. You’ll need to ask the customer service branch of Riot Games to begin the process instead or utilize a VPN to play with your pals.
If you have a good reason for changing regions in League of Legends: Wild Rift, like moving to Europe from the United States, you should submit a request to the official support line. It would probably be best under “Account Management, Data Requests, and Deletion.” Explain why you want to change your location in the game, and Riot Games should get back to you.
You can also use a VPN while using League of Legends: Wild Rift to trick the game if you’re in Asia or Europe. However, be careful. “An improperly configured VPN can trick our systems into thinking you’re someplace you’re not, which may result in assigning an inaccurate server affinity to your account,” said Riot Games in a Q&A.
“This can create a whole host of problems that can’t be easily resolved (and a few that can’t be fixed at all!), so your best bet is to deactivate your VPN entirely when first logging on”. You can certainly try using a VPN, but it could give long-term issues to your account.
- It’s hard to argue that League of Legends: Wild Rift is one of the best multiplayer mobile games right now.
Create a new account in League of Legends: Wild Rift
It’s incredibly annoying, but the best option requires you to create a new account in League of Legends: Wild Rift. Launch the game under a new account and then set the region to where your friends play. You should be good to go from that point. You may want to play the game on PC instead to freshen things up.
Unfortunately, you’ll need to unlock all of the costumes and characters you’ve grinded for, but at least you can play with your pals wherever they are. “We realize that starting from scratch can be a sobering proposition after fighting your way up the ladder and unlocking tons of champs on your primary account, but remember: every new account comes with a variety of events to help you fill out your roster without spending a dime,” said Riot Games in the same Q&A.
