Are you trying to find out what’s included in the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Expansion Pass? It has been just under a month since Xenoblade Chronicles 3 launched on Nintendo Switch and fans are already getting excited for future downloadable content in the expansion pass. Nintendo and Monolith Software have already confirmed that four waves of content will be released for Xenoblade Chronicles 3 in the next twelve months. So, here’s everything you need to know about the game’s expansion pass.
Wave 1: Available Now
If you have already purchased the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 expansion pass, then you will have access to some extra items and cosmetics right now. Firstly, you will have a collection of helpful items that can be used for gem crafting and more. The second and final item is a bunch of colour variations for your party’s outfits. Although these bonuses are minuscule in comparison to future waves, there’s still an incentive for buying the expansion pass close to launch.
Wave 2 – Release by 31/12/2022
Despite having no exact release date, wave 2 of the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 expansion pass has a lot more content in comparison to the first wave. If you’re looking to challenge yourself some more, then you can look forward to a dedicated challenge battle mode against some worthy opponents. Additionally, a new hero character will be made available with some accompanying quests, which will presumably add a new class for one of your party members. You can also expect new character outfits alongside these major pieces of content.
Wave 3: Release by 30/04/2023
There’s not much to say here, as wave 3 will add the exact same content as wave 2, though the hero character will be different, and the challenge battle mode will have more challenges to complete.
Wave 4: Release by 31/12/2023
Wave 4 will likely be the most exciting piece of content for most fans, as a new original story scenario will be released before the end of next year. If we look at the previous game, the DLC titled “Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country” was a sizeable add-on that added roughly 15-30 hours of story content, which could easily be extended depending on side quests. It was also released as a separate physical release, so we might see a similar thing for Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
That’s everything you need to know about the expansion pass for Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Nintendo and Monolith Soft will likely announce more information as we get closer to the DLC’s scheduled release windows. You can purchase the expansion pass here.
