What are Interlink Levels in Xenoblade Chronicles 3?
During Chapter 3 of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, you’ll be introduced to the interlink levels meter mechanic within battle, now that everyone in the party can transform into their Ouroboros forms.
Basically, the interlink level that is on the left side of the battle UI indicates how strong your Ouroboros form can be. If you progressively increase the level, the form will gain strength. Once it’s used, the level will reset. At the beginning of each battle, it will default to Level 0.

How to increase Interlink Levels in Xenoblade Chronicles 3?
To increase your Interlink Levels, you must fuse your arts together. On both sides, you’ll see a variety of moves at your disposal. The left are coordinated with the D-Pad while the right can be input with the buttons. However, when they’re firing up in orange, this is when you can fuse the moves together for a more powerful attack.
Holding ZR and then inputting the right side’s attack will initialize the fuse art. After a few fuse arts, you’ll start to see the Interlink increase in level. We recommend switching between the two characters that fuse together and using their fuse arts when they become available.
In battles in the field against common foes, you’ll likely not have to worry about the Interlink level as they end too quickly for any effect. Some stronger foes within the wilderness, however, that are elite (blue) and unique (orange), may be more difficult to fight, making interlink levels important. They’re also good ways to level up fast.
During boss encounters, try to rack up the interlink as high as possible and then dish out some extravagant damage towards the foe when you’re at Level 2 or Level 3 rather than a slim amount. This will be vital if you choose the hardest difficulty.
The class of your characters can also alter the interlink effects of the Ouroboros. A defender increases the aggro value, the attacker deals more damage, and the healer restores more HP to the whole party.
